I was scared of him for the longest time... granted, he doesn't look scary without the make up... but that freaky contact lens just...it's definitely that contact lens.
I remember seeing sever of the photos from this set over the years. Photography doesn't usually impress me much, as it's simply not really my thing, but I adore these. I've carefully chosen visceral as the word I that think best describes this set, and this photograph in particular; the way one can see every single pore, every tiny fold and crease in his skin, every bit of stubble, the way the red make-up looks so wet. . . it's very 'in your face'. It doesn't feel like a photograph so much as that he's actually there, staring at you. The pared-down composition and simple, hard-edges make-up only add to the overall effect.
I always hated the way this guy looked... some of his music is good though... but that has nothing to do with this...This is a pretty decent and intense photo!
